Monday, April 28th is the last day to turn in your Stampede-to-Read library programs! 

Poem in Your Pocket Day this Thursday, April 24th

 

This Thursday, April 24th bring your poem with you to school and share it with your classmates, friends, and teachers! Pick your favorite poem, write it down, or print it out and share it on "Poem in Your Pocket Day."

Reading is the Ticket- Reading Program

Students in KN-5th grade can earn a free pass to Schlitterbahn Galveston Island Waterpark!  To earn a pass students must read 10 hours or 600 minutes and log these minutes on the tally form.  The form is due to your classroom teacher on April 11th and must include books read, time, and a parent signature.  No late forms will be accepted.  Forms will be sent off and passes will handed out before summer.   Happy Reading!

Read Across America Week AND Digital Citizenship Week - March 3rd-7th!!

Read Across America Week:

This is one of my favorite times of the year- celebrating Dr. Seuss and the contributions he made to children's literature! Reading his books just puts a smile on my face. He always had great lessons to teach with his books!  We have a fun week planned out- don't forget to dress up!

Monday: The Lorax Mustache Day! Wear a mustache or yellow shirt!
Tuesday: Cat in the Hat Day! Wear a silly hat!
Wednesday: Dr. Seuss Shirt Day!
Thursday: Fox in the Crazy Socks Day!
Friday: Whoville Hair Day! Wear your hair crazy!

Teachers will be going over these digital citizenship topics in the classroom to celebrate Katy ISD's Digital Citizenship Week!

NEW to Library Blog... Student Section!

There is now a new section just for students!  It will be divided by grade level and will include videos, websites, and other important information that students learned about during library lessons.
