              Character Book Parade
18.PNG11.PNG17.PNG16.PNGOctober 27th
To celebrate the exceptional reading we see each day at SSE, we will be having a Character Book Parade on Tuesday, October 27th at 8:30 a.m.   The parade will travel around the school starting from the Kindergarten exit and travel clockwise and end at the front of the school.

12.PNGThis parade will be a school-wide event in which each student has the opportunity to dress up as their favorite character from a book.  Each costume should correspond to the book character they are dressed as.  Students will need to bring their book with them to school to share with their class and to take part in the Character Parade.
13.PNG
We encourage you and your child to brainstorm ways that you can use items in your home to make a costume (ex.– sheets, boxes, poster board, clothes, etc.) . However, we ask that  students DO NOT dress in monster, witch, or any other scary costumes. No weapons will be allowed at the character parade, such as, toy swords, guns, knives, bows and arrows.

Parents are welcome to stand outside of the school on the sidewalk to watch the parade. We hope that everyone will choose to participate!  Teachers and staff will also be dressing up to share their  excitement for reading!  We can’t wait to see these amazing book characters come to life with all of our creativity!
